I am hesitant about posting since the site has not been active since 2007 but I wanted to say how wonderful Robert Ryan and Dana Andrews were as actors. It is a shame we no longer see actors of their caliber. My father too had bouts with alcoholism but he was able to stop drinking 30 years ago.
Robert Ryan and Dana Andrews were human and I think in their time alcohol was more acceptable. They were able to survive as actors and raise families and although it is difficult for children to live through I think these men were decent human beings with faults like all of us. It is something you learn to accept because you love the person.
